- The Strathclyde Univesity Big Band is one of only a few long-standing University-based Big Bands in the UK. We have established a reputation for developing young talent and playing varied, interesting and challenging music. Since we formed in 1978, literally hundreds of musicians have passed through our ranks. The band plays a variety of big band jazz arrangements with one of two standards thrown in for good measure. The line up is an eclectic mix of experienced players and fresh new talent.
